Freedoms Indeed -- The founding of the greatest nation ever in existence is established upon three fundamental pursuits -- LIFE, LIBERTY, and HAPPINESS. Without the acknowledged right to publicly pursue these three fundamental elements, the United States of America is no different from any other nation. With them, we experience freedoms and prosperity unlike any other nation upon this earth.

Freedoms Indeed 4th of July Independence Day
Today we celebrate the day that this country proclaimed Independence from oppression and from a dictatorial king and kingdom. How many of us appreciate the United States of America? Do we realize that we live in the greatest nation that has ever existed in all of time? Do we realize that we live in the safest most secure and most blessed country in the world? Could I get you to shout out a big “Thank you Jesus for America”?
We enjoy unprecedented freedoms. The celebration of Independence Day is a celebration of freedoms; but, in fact, freedom isn’t free. We are only able to celebrate our freedoms because of the price others have paid. Freedom is very expensive. The price is blood. Freedom isn’t free, but its value is without measure. Today we will celebrate the freedoms given us over 200 years ago with fireworks and food. That is a good thing.
However, we should also celebrate daily an Independence Day paid for and provided us 2000 years ago. Do we understand the freedoms we should experience in the kingdom of God? As with America’s freedoms, the price was blood. The freedoms were from the oppression of a dictatorial king and a kingdom far surpassing England. It is the freedoms from Satan and the kingdom of Darkness, but I don’t know that we grasp the depths of those freedoms. Paul had to tell believers they were free.
Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Believers did not understand their Independence. Do we? Is being a Christian a bondage to you or freedom? How many people, lost or saved, see Christianity as freedom?
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Though these believed in Jesus, they were not yet free, but could be. They said they were Abraham’s seed and had never been slaves. The truth is they were slaves to the Roman Empire and religion. My point is that many today think they are experiencing freedoms in Christ, but are actually in slavery.
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Jesus wants to set us free in every area of our lives.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are tripartite beings that should experience independence in our spirit and soul and body. That is what I mean by FREEDOMS INDEED.
There is spiritual Independence provided by Christ. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, our SPIRIT comes alive and is able to commune and communicate with God (Eph 2:1-5).
Ephesians 2:4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
Ephesians 2:5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved.
If you have never allowed God to give your SPIRIT freedom, then today can be your day of Independence.
There is also freedom for your SOUL. So many of God’s people remain in slavery to Satan when it comes to their souls. From the soul come thoughts and attitudes. God wants you free from nu-forgiveness, bitterness, anger, anxiety, depression, addictions, etc. How many of us know people who are saved in their spirit, but remain in bondage to something like depression in their soul?
Job 30:16 My heart is broken. Depression haunts my days.
Soul slavery haunts our days. A person’s mind is consumed with negativity and darkness. God wants to make this your Independence Day.
There is also independence provided for our bodies.
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
There is freedom from all manner of sickness and all manner of disease when the kingdom is proclaimed. God does not want you sick. He wants you free from aches and pains and disease. Today could be your Independence Day.
God wants us FREE INDEED. That means free in our spirit, soul, and body. Free to communicate and commune with God. Free from depression and oppression in our minds and souls. Free from sickness and disease in our bodies. Give the Lord a shout and a hand clap! Amen.
